Ink Paper Stamp

Have you ever used a partial embossing folder?

Hi Stampers,

One of my new favorites is the Vine Street embossing folder. Of course, you can use the full folder or just use a part of it as it did here. Insert your Whisper White Card Stock so that it will capture just one of the "vines" and run it through the Big Shot. What I also love about this card is that I did not feel wasteful using the DSP as it came from the smaller sized Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack. I hope SU continues to make these kinds of paper packs as it will encourage card makers to use more DSP in their designs.

Boho Blossom and Punch Potpourri Card

Hi Stampers,

This card was created by another SU Demo, Kim Rudich, under my upline. I got it at a swap and it is quite sweet and thought you would enjoy seeing one of the swaps we received at our SU Demo meetings. She used the Boho Blossom Extra Large Punch and the Punch Potpourri Hostess Stamp Set. She also used the Pear Pizazz In Color CS and the DSP with the Pear Pizazz Stitched Poly Ribbon. I just love that ribbon. She used the Scallop Trim Border Punch on the edge of the DSP. Thanks, Kim. It is a super card.

Artistic Etchings Card

 
Hi Stampers,

I just love the Artistic Etchings Stamp Set. Perhaps it is because of my wish to go to Paris some day.

Anyway, this is a super easy card to make. I love the Rich Razzleberry CS from Stampin' Up and wanted to use it as a base for my card. I combined it with Sahara Sand.

Materials:

Paper: Rich Razzleberry CS, Sahara Sand CS

Stamp Set: Artistic Etchings Stamp Set, Because I Care Hostess Stamp Set

Ink: Basic Gray Stampin' Ink Pad, Platinum Shimmer Paint

Accessories: Rich Razzleberry Taffeta Ribbon, Sponge Dauber, Mat Pack

• Stamp your image from the Artistic Etchings Stamp Set to the right side of the Sahara Sand CS and Stamp the Thank You from the Because I Care Hostess Stamp Set underneath it using Basic Gray Stampin' Ink Pad.

• Insert the Sahara Sand inside the Rich Razzleberry card and as you lift the Rich Razzleberry front, checking the inside as a point of reference, begin tearing the Rich Razzleberry towards you and remove. Check to be sure the image and greeting are in view.
• Put snail on the inside of the torn side of Rich Razzleberry CS and adhere it to the Sahara Sand.
• Using the medallion from the Artistic Etchings Stamp Set, stamp in Basic Gray ink pad.
• Shake the Platinum Shimmer Paint bottle so that a bit of paint appears in lid when opened.
• Dab your sponge dauber into the lid and stamp off so that it is not too thick on the dauber and sponge lightly over the medallion being careful not to cover the whole medallion.
• Stamp three times on torn side of Rich Razzleberry re-inking every time.
• Wrap Rich Razzlberry ribbon around card
• Using your Mat Pack and the Piercing tool poke holes in the corner as shown above.

I love this technique of the torn edge. I have quite a few more to show you over the next few months and the really neat thing is that it will look different each time because of the paper, ink, stamp set and embellishments you use. By changing the sentiment you can use it for birthdays as well, especially for a masculine card. Hope you give this one a try.

Because I Care Card

I guess I am wishfully thinking of spring with my most recent cards. They are actually calling for some snow over the next two days. Enough already!

So, if nature is not providing the mood then I must.

Today's card is a very sweet and easy card made with the Because I Care Hostess Stamp Set which I cased off the internet. This is a must stamp set to own and can only be acquired by Hosting a Workshop. It is very simply made with a very simple technique of mosaic cutting and just a bit of color with your Stampin' Writers.

Materials:

Paper:  Whisper White CS, Baja Breeze CS

Stamp Set:  Because I Care Hostess Stamp Set

Ink: Basic Black Stampin' Ink Pad, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black and Certain Celery Stampin' Writer

Accessories: Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon, Mat Pack (for poking holes in the corner), Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Big Shot.

And that's it. I know what you are going to say. "Yeah, but that Big Shot is a pricey item." Yes, it is, but it will be the best die-cutting machine you will ever own and it is the BEST on the market today. I own two other brands which gave me unsatisfactory results, the Cuttlebug and the Epic 6, (and they were less expensive) which led me to finally break down and buy the Big Shot. My only regret is that I did not purchase it sooner. It works like a charm. After getting such poor results with my other two machines I was skeptical at first, much like you, until I tried the Big Shot at a workshop. Used it once, bought it and never looked back or regretted my decision or spending the money. I have made many beautiful cards using my Big Shot. It just made crafting that much easier.

Directions:

• I ran the 4 1/2 X 3 1/4 piece of Baja Breeze through the Big Shot using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.
• I stamped the Hydrangea from the Because I Care Hostess Stamp Set in Basic Black Stampin' Ink onto a piece of 2 X 3 Whisper White and colored in the centers using Pretty in Pink Stampin' Writer and the leaves in Certain Celery.
• I then cut this into one inch pieces.
• I ran my Basic Black Stampin Writer along the edge of each piece to make it stand out a bit more.
• I then assembled the pieces onto the right hand corner of the Embossed piece of Baja Breeze CS leaving a fraction of space between the pieces. Place them in a way that is pleasing to the eye.
• I attached all to the Whisper White CS and stamped the sentiment under the Hydrangea.
• Then, using the Mat Pack I lined up the edge and poked holes to make the corner piece.
• Finally, I wrapped the Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon and tied it to the left side above the Hydrangea.

Hope you enjoy making this card as much as I did. It could be used as a Mother's Day Card, Birthday Card or even an  Easter Card. You can stamp the Hydrangea in pink or blue for a totally different look, too. This is really a great stamp set to own.

I {Heart} Hearts Card

Hi Stampers,

Today I am using the I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set. This set can be used for any occasion. That is why  I did not stamp a greeting on it. You can certainly use it for Valentine's Day but it can be used for so much more and all year round! (Anniversary, Thank You, Birthday, Friend, Note Card, etc.) So don't just think it is for Valentine's Day.

Materials:

Paper: Whisper White CS, Early Espresso CS, Certain Celery CS, Pretty in Pink or Pink Pirouette Scrap CS

Stamp Set: I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set

Ink: Melon Mambo

Accessories: Certain Celery 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Pinking Hearts Border, Small Heart Punch, Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

I believe this card is pretty straight forward. Although I did not use the Pretty in Pink or Pirouette CS for this card for the little heart, I think next time I would. If you stamp the heart on the pink CS and then punch it out you would be all set. I did not do that. I stamped on Whisper White and then punched it out but I felt it did not stand out enough so I punched two little hearts in Pretty in Pink and mounted them behind the love heart to make a border. I think stamping on the Pretty in Pink or Pink Pirouette CS would make it easier and better looking. Don't you think? You learn by  experimenting.

Thanks Card

Hi Stampers,

I just love it when a card comes together easily as did the one above. If you stop to think about it you can easily change the greeting to almost anything and if you change the colors to pink and red you could even made do for Valentine's Day!!! I like a card when it is so versatile. You can keep a bunch of them handy and then just pop in the greeting and send it on its way. And, to boot, it is so easy peasy!!!

Thanks Card

• Fold 8 ½ X 5 ½ Whisper White Card Stock in half as in sample
• Attach the Blue Words 5 ¼ X 4 to the front of the card
• Using the border ribbon punch, punch out in the navy blue (Night of Navy) CS
• Stamp the “Thanks I love being spoiled.” Stamp from the Afterthoughts Hostess Stamp Set on the left side of 1 ½ X 4 piece of Whisper White using Night of Navy Ink Pad
• Stamp butterfly from the Thanks for Caring Stamp Set onto Whisper White and punch out.
• Punch out Scallop Circle in Night of Navy
• Adhere Ribbon Border to the back of the Whisper White so that the scalloped bottom and one row of dotted holes show. See card.
• Attach the Thanks to the card front lower third of card making sure the edges are even with the Blue Words CS.
• Attach butterfly to scallop and adhere with THREE dimensionals to front of card positioning so that it does NOT cover the greeting.

So, there you have it. I told you it was easy. You could use any decorative paper for the background and coordinate it with another color for the scalloped border and the scalloped circle.

Afterthoughts and Decorative Label Punch Tri-Fold Card

Okay, I admit it. I LOVE the Elements of Style Stamp Set. I can't imagine not owning it. When my cards need a bit of pizazz or punch, it is my go to stamp set as you can see here. You can stamp it so you have a subtle look or you can stamp with a contrasting color for a bolder look and more of a toile effect. This card highlights the Elements of Style Stamp Set, Afterthoughts Stamp Set and the Thanks for Caring Stamp Set all current and all from Stampin' Up.

This sweet little card has an insert and a belly band to hold it closed.

You can print your message on the insert before you prepare it for this card. My group just loved this card and it really made up in no time at all.

Just for You Card

• Starting with your 8 ¾ by 5 ¼  Crumb Cake CS score it at 3” and again at 7 ¼” and fold
• Using the stamping off method stamp left larger side with Elements of Style and Crumb Cake ink. You can open card to do this and it is okay if some carries over to the back of the card.
• Using Blushing Bride CS punch out the Ribbon Border and adhere to large side of card with only the scallop edge showing on the right side.
• Score belly band (dotted paper) at 4 ¼ and at 8 ½ and wrap around card and adhere together making a V notch on the right side of band as shown on card.
• Stamp Butterfly (sharing with Thank You Card) in Crumb Cake onto Very Vanilla scrap and then Just for You in soft Suede and punch out using Decorative Label Punch. Using Sponge and Crumb Cake sponge the edges.
• Punch out Soft Suede using the Decorative Label Punch and cut in half and adhere to Just for You so that only some of the edge appears. You might have to snip off a bit to hide the cut. Adhere greeting to belly band.
• Punch out three flowers and bend the edges up and using Crumb Cake Ink sponge the edges as well. Adhere to label with Glue Dots. Add ONE pearl per flower.
• Wrap Linen Thread around card two times and tie into a knot
• Inside: Round the corners of 4 X 5 3/8 Very Vanilla CS. Using Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and the Big Shot line up each edge so that you get FOUR rows of dots. Run through the Big Shot.
• Insert into card

A Slice of Life Thank You Card

Hi Stampers,

I wasn't sure when I started out if I was going to like this card but when I was finished i just loved it.

I used the spritzing technique for the splatter spots by using an aqua pen and dipping it into soft suede ink and using my finger nail to spritz it on the card. Neat technique but I warn you, you will get ink all over your fingers!

Materials: (All from Stampin' Up)

Paper: Yellow Daffodil, Cajun Craze, In-Color Hostess Designer Pack, Very Vanilla

Ink: More Mustard, Soft Suede

Stamp Sets: Afterthought, A Slice of Life Hostess Stamp Set

Accessories: Decorative Label Punch, sponge, Aqua Pen
