Sorry about yesterday but it seems as though every time we add a new program or change something my computer tends to freeze up and I lose the internet altogether! All is well now. I have a beautiful card to post today which is monochromatic. However, you can use any color you like to suite your own taste.
Since I like some design and texture on my cards. I ran the top layer of Stampin' Up So Saffron Card Stock through my Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder (SU) after I had stamped it with the floral stamp from Elements of Style from Stampin' Up. The base card is also stamped from the Elements of Style Stamp Set but I used the simpler swirly design stamp. I sponged all the edges of the pieces with More Mustard and adhered all the mats together. I then tied some Chantilly Lace ribbon around it and then attached it offset to the bottom right. The final step was to stamp the bird from the Elements of Style Stamp Set onto More Mustard Card Stock with More Mustard and cut it out by hand and attached with dimensionals.
The Happy Birthday, which was stamped onto the So Saffron CS, is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set and I punched it out with the Word Window punch, adhered it to More Mustard Card Stock and then punched it out with the Modern Label Punch. Of course, all was sponged with More Mustard before attaching with dimensionals.
Would love to see this card in other color schemes. Please do send me a copy if you make one in a different color. Card making should not be difficult nor should it be expensive. I think that when you stick to a monochromatic theme it saves on both time and money.
Please feel free to leave a comment. I love to see what you have to say.
More tomorrow but for now, thanks for stopping by and happy stamping,
